Trees | The green gold of urban environments

Despite a growing collective concern to combat climate change, a key element of the solution is often overlooked: trees. Although trees are perceived by some as a nuisance generator (shade, dead leaves, resin, property damage, etc.), the presence of mature trees in an urban environment generates social, environmental and economic benefits.

Whether integrated into a green infrastructure, a neighborhood park, a backyard or a parking lot, the importance of each tree is significant. They contribute to the creation of biodiversity and help to address many of the issues associated with climate change. For this reason, municipalities must implement regulatory provisions that encourage the planting of new trees and ensure the protection and conservation of existing ones.
