New partnership between Convergence Ville & Eau and Atelier Urbain

A partnership between Atelier Urbain and Convergence Ville & Eau has been set up to support municipalities and MRCs in flood risk management.

Only a few months remain before the new regulatory framework for flood zone management comes into force and applies to the whole of Quebec. As of March 1, 2026, MRCs will be able to adopt their own Plan de gestion des risques liés aux inondations (PGRLI), rather than relying on the generic provincial framework. This new management tool will make it possible to define a regional vision, development solutions adapted to the territory and concrete implementation strategies.

Rather than seeing this new regulatory framework as a constraint, we believe it represents a unique opportunity to transform our exposed territories and build a unifying vision around the presence of water.
